A Little Roadkill, a little spice….
Woman in the Middle | October 19, 2012I hope you are sitting down because I have to tell you something…we all missed this year’s roadkill cookoff in Marlinton, West Virginia. It was September 29th. Shucks! The delights you missed include the following winners:
First Place - Stuffed Bear-Ron-A-Soar-Us. I am taking a wild guess and assuming this included bear meat. It seemed to be a meatloaf type recipe.
Second Place – Venison and Rabbit Stew. This dish had a nice, straight forward name. No explanation needed!
Third Place – South of the Border Nachos. The name of this dish doesn’t give us any hint as to what roadkill went into it. The name of the team may give us a hint. They were called the Woodrow Woodrats.
The People’s Choice award went to the Porcupine Stew.
But don’t be too distressed. Mark your calendars for Saturday September 28th, 2013 for next year’s Road Kill Cookoff! That way you won’t miss it again!
