I moved to Phoenix
Woman in the Middle | July 13, 2012Way back during my college days I attended a sorority convention (Gamma Phi Beta, in case you are interested) in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix in the summer was very interesting to this So Cal gal. We were there during “monsoon season.” What???? In the middle of a deathly dry desert, when temperatures were well over 100 degrees, the sky would open up once a day and rain would pour down. That, my friends, was monsoon season in Phoenix.
Fast forward thirty years to July 12th and 13th, 2012 and I seem to have been transported, lock stock and barrel, to live in Phoenix without my knowledge. Yesterday and today both it has been overcast and while there hasn’t been a downpour, at least at my house, it has rained some and we even got thunder last night. I even heard one weather guy use the “monsoon” word. It is still hot as well. Now, I realize the humidity level is not currently equal to, say, Mississippi in the summer, but it is way more moist than usual around here.
Weird, I say it is just weird!
