Dear Adele
Woman in the Middle | February 23, 2016Dear Adele,
I am sure you are busy with your man (as you like to call him) and your adorable little boy. But, I have to figure, occasionally during your busy days, you think about the millions of people all over the world listening to and loving your music.
I am old enough to be your mother, so I hope you won’t be offended. But I love your music! I don’t enjoy listening to it because it is “retro.” I enjoy listening to it because you have a voice that is full of breaks and nuances and it is candy to my ears. Your songs are full of emotion and I love to sing along with them like a crazy person when I am driving or cleaning the house. In other words, your music makes me happy.
I was really looking forward to your performance at the Grammys. Heck, the whole family was. Then that mic fell on the piano strings and it just wasn’t what you were hoping for. The look on your face at the end of the performance told the story. I am sure it was frustrating all the heck to you. I read you cried all the next day. Believe me when I say those of us watching knew it wasn’t your fault and we were ready to bop some sound people over the heads because of it. How dare they mess up Adele!
But we have calmed down now, and we hope you have, too. We may take your advice and go get an In and Out burger, just to help us over that last bit of rage over the situation. Meanwhile, Adele 25 is on constant play in my car.
Thanks, Adele, for bringing me so much enjoyment. Don’t be a stranger!
Love, Woman in the Middle
