Random Musings – September 9, 2017
Woman in the Middle | September 9, 2017I have half a dozen posts almost ready to go, but somehow I can’t manage it. I seem to be either mad crazy busy or flopped on the couch using my newfound knowledge of smart phone games to relax and do nothing.
Eldest Daughter and I helped Youngest Daughter finish her move to her new place yesterday. I will admit some tears were shed, but not by Youngest. She is very excited by this new phase of her life. I, however, need to stay out of her room for a bit. I can only go in to take pictures of cats, like this one of Lumos on Youngest’s bed. The cats are very excited by the newly almost empty room and are claiming it as theirs.
Youngest did am amazing job of cleaning the room out, just as I had hoped. But I think it is the very fact that it is empty that gives me a problem at the moment. Oh well, nothing new in the world. I am not the first mother to launch a baby and won’t be the last. And a successful launch is a good thing and I know without a doubt this will be a very successful launch.
As we did moving and unpacking yesterday, the three dogs of Youngest’s new roommate would pop in the bedroom to visit. I call them the TAM trio. They are Titan, Abby, and Moose. Titan is a pretty mellow small dog. Abby is as excitable as you would expect a young Brittany spaniel to be. And Moose is just as big as that name implies and pretty excitable, too. They are like grandchildren – nice to see and visit with but also nice to hand back to their mother.
I haven’t said much about Blackie lately because what is there to say? He is old, he is skinny, he is on a lot of medicine and we take it day by day. But we think sooner rather than later he will be moving on to a new place in the cosmos. But today is not that day, and he is currently taking a nap on his bed on the floor behind me.
I decided today was the day to clean out the cupboards in the front bathroom, with Youngest and her stuff out of there. I was able to get rid of lots of things. I even cleared out a spot so the wash cloths and hand towels that go with the towels in that bathroom can actually be in that bathroom. It is crazy but true.
We are supposed to get rain tomorrow and my sinuses are making sure I am aware of that fact. Uggg…Sudefed is my friend right now, soon to be joined at the party by mutual friend Ibuprofen. These two friends get along really well together at times like this.
I sent a friend an email the other day. i knew she was going to be on a cruise in northern Europe right about now, but I was not sure of the exact days. So instead of calling I emailed. Very shortly I got an email back. They were in Tallinn, Estonia that day. Wow. Isn’t the modern world an amazing place sometimes? I remember when my mother’s main communication method with her sisters was the written letter. Now I can email a friend and she will get my message no matter where in the world she may be.
Today is the birthday of my state, California. Happy 167th birthday, you wild and crazy place!
Lumos looks like he is holding his paws together in the picture. How cute!
You could call it half empty nest syndrome! Love the picture of Lumos. Perhaps he is trying to take in her scent.
The two young ones just love it when changes happen in a room. When we took the table and chairs out of the dining room to clean the carpet they were doing donuts on the rug they were so excited. Crazy cats!
Hi there, I have had a number of busy days and not finding the time to blog from Friday to Monday but I am around more during the week. A clean room has a nice feel to it, not that I have clean rooms very ofen
