Can’t Ignore It Any More
Woman in the Middle | September 2, 2017I have avoided talking about our recent weather because it has been so awful I don’t want to think about it. But I can’t ignore it any longer. We are on day 8 of extremely high temperatures. Here is what it has looked like around here:
August 26th- 108
August 27- 108
August 28- 108
August 29- 108
August 30- 108
August 31- 111
September 1- 109
Today’s predicted temperature- 109
What is even more killer is that it doesn’t cool off very much at night. It has been running in the 90s until 9 pm or later. However, like vampires, my neighbors and I crawl out from our lairs to do work around the house after it gets dark. Even the pool is not a relief because after so many days in a row of high heat, and with little cooling at night, it is the temperature of warm bathwater. If I are hot already, the last thing I want to do it jump in a warm pool.
The weather is supposed to break tomorrow. High 90s! Whoo hoo! That sounds like snow weather to us right now! Meanwhile, Youngest daughter is packing up stuff today and we plan on taking a truck load tomorrow, in the morning, when it is still cooler. At least we hope anyway.
Wow! We have been in the high 60s which is unseasonably cool for us. It’s predicted to warm up to the mid-80s after Harvey comes through. We’ll see. I can only imagine how hot it is. You will become nocturnal!
We would become nocturnal except for the fact that it won’t cool off at night, either. We were cheering last night because it got down to 89 by 10 pm.
You forgot to mention the humidity! Much higher than we are used to. I was downtown today and even the breeze was no help. I long for fall.
Yep, I forgot to mention the humidity. I guess the heat is so bad it got to my brain! LOL!
Stinking hot days like that are annoying, the heat drains our bodies and make us feel like doing nothing
