Same Song, Second Verse
Woman in the Middle | August 2, 2017I know I blogged about the weather yesterday, but I need to blog about it again. It was just that awful. Really. It was.
First of all, I had another minor ant invasion yesterday. This time it was in the master bathroom. In order to head it off at the pass, I sprayed a small amount of ant spray where I saw them coming in. That stuff stinks so I opened the window of the bathroom and closed the bathroom door so the warm air from outside wouldn’t get drawn in to the house when the AC kicked on and so the small of ant spray wouldn’t spread. That small 6×6 room turned into a sauna. No fire or steam was necessary to bring the humidity level up in there! I broke a sweat every time I had to use the bathroom. It was crazy!
I went to the grocery store around 8 pm. It was still warm and muggy so I used the AC going and coming. When I stepped out of my car in the store parking lot, my classed half fogged over. The same thing happened when i got home. Folks, I can tell you right now, this has NEVER happened to me before here in inland So Cal. NEVER.
Hubby and I both had that weird discombobulated feeling yesterday of feeling like we were in a different place. Hubby felt like he was in Hawaii. I felt like I was in Tennessee. Strange and unfamiliar weather will do that.
My southern Mom used to say every single summer that we had a “dry heat.” She would not have said that yesterday. She would have been hurdled back to those childhood days in Arkansas when it was hot and muggy.
I am happy to report today is a little better. It is still overcast and muggy, but it isn’t as hot. My glasses still steam up, but not quite as much.
I tell ya, it has been some weird weather! And I don’t like it, not one bit!
I am glad that someone else is also complaining (frequently) about the weather. I live on the east coast. I may as well live in a rain forest. That’s the weather we have had following a very bizarre winter and spring. Climate change? Naw, couldn’t be.
I was telling my daughter the other day about what you wrote about having to take a sweater everywhere. Gotta crank those air conditioners to get the humidity out of the air!
Uh, yeah…. high humidity is awful. For some strange reason, we are having a spell of low humidity. Gotta love climate change!
I KNEW we were having Tennessee weather! You got ours, we got yours!
Weather is so all important to our moods and outlooks. I can surely understand how weird it must have been to experience hi humidity in your part of the world.
I use inexpensive ant baits that I get at Walmart. They last months, whereas the spray lasts only minutes and is bad for breathing.
