Random Musings – April 2, 2017
Woman in the Middle | April 2, 2017Got a call from someone at our insurance agent’s office. She informed me that Eldest Daughter was coming up on her 9th anniversary as a driver, and so her premiums will be going down a bit. Apparently, after you become a new driver, the significant dates (at least with State Farm) are at 3, 5, 9, and 13 years as a driver. After 13 years, you are no longer considered a new driver. Who knew?
Eldest survived her first day as a substitute teacher. I, however, had to go shopping after everyone else in the house left at 7 am to go to work. I wish I could say I bought interesting things, but all I did was buy more small Corelle bowls to use to feed the cats. I know, I am a wild woman! But with three indoor cats and now one outdoor cat, I was running out of bowls!
Another sign of spring at our house is the duck couples deciding to come swim together in our pool. This is not a good thing as they poop in the pool and on the deck around the pool. Without Honey, we have to take on all the duck chasing ourselves. But the pair we had in the pool this morning were quite the stubborn ducks! We sent Youngest out to chase them away with our patented method of running, yelling, and clapping. They just swam to the other side of the pool. Then I tried, They swam back to the first side again. Then we both tried together. The ducks calmly swan to the deep end of the pool. Finally, Hubby came out and for whatever reason the ducks separated, with one in the shallow end and one in the deep end. That finally got them nervous enough that the female took off, quickly followed by the male. If we have universally stubborn ducks their year we may have to come up with a new patented method!
That is cute – your pool is a dating center for ducks!
