Getting Stuff Done
Woman in the Middle | February 23, 2017I feel like I got something done today.
I went with Eldest Daughter to get her drug test done for her new job substitute teaching. FYI, they don’t mess around when they plan on letting you near children! And I am a nice Mom to go along.
We went to a thrift store that supports pet rescue and I bought something, I confess.
I went to the grocery store.
I called our local water company to report a leak in the street near my house.
I fixed a new recipe called Baked Spaghetti. Rumor has it it tastes delightful, but I haven’t had dinner yet.
I cleaned up all the dishes, wiped down the counters, and ran the dishwasher.
I cleaned my sink in the bathroom.
I took care of cats, which is no small feat in my house anymore, especially since I added the front yard stray to the feeding rotation. He has quickly figured out that if we see him, we feed him. We tend to see him quite a bit most days.
I called some friends about a meeting I attended last night and some plans for this weekend.
I had a conversation with the general manager of the parks district to discuss some possible changes staff reports, minutes and such.
Later tonight I have a parks district meeting.
There was a Starbucks stop in there somewhere, and I made myself lunch.
Whew!
You go, girl! I got tired just thinking about doing all that!
I rested in between!
I tried to find a way to reply to an entry you made on Dec. 6th about Stater Bros toilet paper and ended up doing it here. I too am on that sad, sad team of losers that now have no toilet paper to replace our once favorite to-go toilet paper we have always loved and used. I have also tried that horrid paper they claim is replacing Stater Bros TP, Simply Made…well, it’s simply horrible. I was tempted to chuck it in the trash after the first use but we are not Rocerkfellas…am I right? Anyways, you mentioned writing to the prez of the company and wondered if you had gotten around to doing that, and if you did, any response yet? I spoke to a manager of one of the stores I shop at (I’m in Palmdale BTW) and she said what she does is wait until they have the bulk stuff go on sale and uses coupons to get the bulk sizes of TP like Charmin and then stocks up long enough until the next sale. She also said that that sale was coming up next week (beginning of March) and that those bulk sales are usually the first week of the month. I know when I used that horrid TP that I wanted to raise holy hell too so you are not alone in you pain and agony of losing what amounts to a good family friend that was always there for you and was dependable. I thought we would always have each other and I didn’t see an end to that relationship. In my household, we are mourning that loss. Who know TP could be so important to someone. It’s like that saying, “You don’t know what you had until it’s gone”. That’s so true. My two adults daughters moved out-of-state, one to Texas and one to Washington state and they both say they miss Stater’s terribly and have to make due with what’s out there. Plase, let me know if you find out anything about the TP.
Thanks for writing! I have a thing on the blog where after two weeks people can’t comment on a post anymore because I get spam comments, and the more posts they can comment on the more spam I get! I have not contacted the main office yet, but you have motivated me again and I am going to do that, maybe this week! I have been buying toilet paper at either Costco or Walmart. IT is so frustrating! What was once a no big deal thing has become such a pain, as I try to buy decent but decently priced TP! I didn’t throw my paper our, either. I suffered to the bitter end with that stuff but never again! However, I had a friend who tossed it, she thought it was so bad.
