What the Heck is That???
Woman in the Middle | February 7, 2017We had some friends over this passed weekend. They happened to be watching their grandson who is 15 months old. He has seen cats before, but two cats in our household had NEVER seen a little tiny human before.
Blackie has managed to see little humans before. Heck, when he was young, 18 years ago, my daughters were quite a bit smaller, although not toddler size. Blackie handled it by staying in the garage most of the day, and when he did come out he snuggled over into the corner of the couch. When the little human made his way over to the kitty and started slapping the couch cushion with the shear joy of seeing a cat, Blackie high tailed it off that couch and out the room pronto!
Blackie before the little human came over to say hello.
Lumos was his normal hesitant self when confronted with new humans. He kept the diaper bag between him and the toddler, sniffed the bag while at the same time poking his head up to see what craziness had entered out house, and then scooted out of the room ASAP. We didn’t see him again until everyone had left.
Nox was his normal curious self, but even his curiosity included a healthy amount of concern for what ever this little human was all about. You could tell he could sense that it held dangers that a normal adult human did not, even though he had never seen one before. He hung around for most of the time our friends were here, but always with a wary eye on the little human, who seemed to fascinate and deeply concern him all at the same time. I took a few photos because I just couldn’t resist.
Nox trying his darnedest to figure out what the little guy was all about.
I thought this last photo was particularly cute. Grandma and the little guy smiling, and Nox keeping his eye on the situation.
Those little humans can be scary!
Happily, this one was delightful and we were more worried for him if he accidentally got a hold of a cat than we were for the cat.
