Another Saturday
Woman in the Middle | December 10, 2016December has five Saturdays this year and this is the fourth to the last in good old 2016. It is a busy one, as is usual in house and can’t be avoided during the holiday season.
Hubby had another bad night filled with coughing so he took himself off to urgent care. Here is hoping they give him something for it so he can get more sleep than he has been getting. Poor guy!
I volunteered at the Park District “Breakfast with Santa” event. I helped untold numbers of children make little Christmas crafts. I peeled acres ( it seemed) of slick paper off the backs of foam pieces to expose the sticky side, so kids could stick the pieces together and make something with Santa, a penguin, a reindeer, or a snowman on it. There was also one craft that was a Christmas duck. Thank goodness there weren’t too many of those!!!
We are going out sometime today to get the Christmas tree. I am insisting. If Hubby can’t manage, I will get one of the girls to help me. I am determined! I know two cats who are going to be very interested in that tree, as they were last year. That is why we will just be getting a four foot tall one, so it can be up off the floor. A tall one would be inviting a furry animal to climb it.
Small trees take less decorations, so I have been digging through the boxes and coming up with a theme for the the short trees we have had for the last three years. Two years ago it was Star Trek. Last year it was cats and dogs. This year it will be travel. We are going to use all the ornaments we have collected through the years that are about other places and people. I am looking forward to it.
Hope you have a great weekend!
