Thar She Blows!
Woman in the Middle | December 3, 2016It is that time of year when we get our inland So Cal winds. Earlier this week we had wind, but, starting Thursday night, we began having WIND. It is just blowing everything all to heck. But there isn’t a thing we can do but wait it out and then begin picking up all the things that blew into the yard and then begin noting what blew over or, even worse, out of the yard.
Sadly, the wind knocked some of the oranges off the tree. I don’t think we have quite the same large crop this year, so I don’t like to see those not quite ripe oranges on the ground, where they won’t do anyone any good. Winds like these are the reason that poor orange tree tilts to one side!
We are in the full thick of December activities today. I am off to spend four hours at a “history for the holidays” event at a local museum. Authors of several local history books will all be there to sign books, and hopefully convince people to buy them. The girls are off to work a Christmas event at a local shopping center, where kids can see Santa, get their photo taken, etc….Happily, no elf costumes are involved. With the wind, Hubby can’t do anything with Christmas lights so I think he is the only one who won’t be doing a bunch of Christmas stuff today.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I understand we all need the wind at times but when it is strong enough to blow a person over not so much not me of course I am a bigger woman and will not blow over that easy but people like my daughter who is a slip of a girl it could blow her over at time
That history event sounds like fun. I hope the girls have fun working at their event too.
