And There They Go!
Woman in the Middle | September 14, 2016Yesterday was a fun but busy day. (BTW – I promise to get back to Hawaii soon, especially now that I have figured out how to download photos from my camera on Windows 10!)
I got to visit with a man who is 98 years young and talk to him about growing up in my area. He, his wife and daughter were all very nice and I spent over two hours with them.It was fun hearing his stories about school, family, and various youthful exploits. He grew up in a rather small community so it can be hard t find people who can tell me about the good old days there, particularly someone who has almost 100 years of memories!
In order to visit this gentlemen, I had to drive about an hour away. No big deal. Traffic was nice both ways. I didn’t have to go into Orange or L.A. counties, so all the better. Last night I was telling Hubby about the trip, and how smoothly it went. He replied, “At least you missed the police chase.” What????? Wait a minute…..
While I was driving northbound on the 15 freeway, on the southbound side I saw a string of police cars, all with their lights on, zipping down the freeway. I craned my neck a bit at the time, trying to figure out what was going on, and then promptly forgot about it. Until Hubby mentioned it, that it! I guess that was the police chase! Someone had stolen a big rig pulling a load of hazardous waste. Almost got on the 5 o’clock news, there!
Wow nearly made it till the news but not quite
What were the fools going to do with hazardous waste? Sell it? Didn’t they know what they stole?
