Woman in the Middle | September 2, 2016We went out to dinner with friends on a recent Saturday night. We were enjoying chit chatting so much we ended up staying at the restaurant until almost 9 pm. On the way home we found ourselves going through a DUI checkpoint, staged by our local police. Not a problem because the most significant thing any of us had had to drink was iced tea. But we were all talking about how long it had been since any of us had gone through a DUI check point. We decided it isn’t because they aren’t happening, it is because we go out so infrequently on a Friday or Saturday night and stay out past 9 pm!
You know you are a woman when one of the most important things to get done before a sandal intensive vacation is a pedicure!
A few days ago nine rail cars derailed near us. It was not a big deal, except that in order to get them upright again, it required the shut down of the adjacent four lane divided highway/major commuter route for at least 24 hours. The funny thing was, no one told us that had happened. The small mention in the newspaper said nothing about the road closure. The city Facebook page was silent. No one on Facebook mentioned it, and those people are usually all over that kind of thing. The road was already shut down when Hubby went to work, and, while he didn’t need to use that road, the surrounding roads were a mess. Had he known, he would have gone a different way to work.
Someone in the Asian world has found my blog and is sending spam to it at a rapid pace. The spam seems to be written in a number of different Asian languages, up to three different ones per spam comment. I am sure these spam comments are fascinating and trying to sell some wonderful product. OK, that was just pure sarcasm. My finger just keeps hitting the delete button. Delete, delete, delete….
