Of Course, Germs
Woman in the Middle | April 28, 2016The big wedding of Youngest Daughter’s friend to Eldest Daughter’s friend is on Saturday. Youngest Daughter is maid of honor in that event. Next week, hubby and I finally get to go on vacation. So what has happened? Eldest Daughter has come down with some dread disease. It came on suddenly on Tuesday with a stuffy nose and nasty cough. Yesterday it progressed to bad aches and pains and a fever of almost 102 F. We are all threatening her with dire consequences if any of us get what ever virus has taken up residence in her body.
Hubby asked last night, “You are washing your hands a lot, right?” Yeah, right….I told him the germs are everywhere, I am home all day with the sick one, and if I washed my hands every time I touched something she touched I wouldn’t have any skin left. I am trying to not touch my face and I tell her “Cover your mouth” every time she coughs. Otherwise, I try not to think of the horribleness of being stuck in a train car with Hubby for two days while one or the other of us coughs our fool head off and moans in misery.
Meanwhile, Youngest is writing a speech for the wedding reception and is hoping she can give it on Saturday without coughing her head off like her sister is right now. Eldest just wants to get well enough to go to the wedding. I am buying over the counter drugs like mad. Oh, how a good spring sickness disrupts everything!
I’m so sorry. If you all come down with it, I hope it waits until AFTER the wedding and vacation trip.
I’ve been sick but have been fending it off by washing my hands for 20 seconds, scrubbing each finger, fingernail and wrist. I can’t believe all of the dirt that comes off after I do this. My hands certainly don’t look that dirty when I first start washing them!
