Some Things That Puzzle Me
Woman in the Middle | April 8, 20161. Every single time I type the word “it” at the beginning of a sentence I type both a capital “I” and a capital “T.” Every single time! IT drives me nuts!
2. Someone I used to work with ate her cold cereal in the morning with water, not milk. Her coworkers (including me) asked why she didn’t just eat the cereal dry but she said she liked it moist. How does something like that even start? Her mom was out of milk one day and she tried it with water and liked it better?
3. I like to watch “Say Yes to the Dress.” Sometimes a girl will try on a dress that just doesn’t look good on her. Her mother or her friends will tell her that dress is not for her. Then the show will have a little bit of commentary from the people working in the dress store talking about how the mother or friend is crushing the girl’s dreams for that dress. That so puzzles and annoys me. Would you let you friend or daughter buy a cocktail dress that makes her hips look wide, or her bust look tiny, or her thighs look huge? Of course not! So why should they let her buy a wedding dress that does something bad to her body?
4. I occasionally get a Happy Meal for myself at McDonalds. Portion control at its finest, and a toy to donate at Christmas time. I always get the package of apples (as opposed to the GoGurt. I have some standards). On the apple package it says “Fresh Orchard Grown Apples.” As opposed to apples grown somewhere else? Fresh toxic waste dump grown apples? Note to McDonalds, all of your apples and every other store’s apples are grown in orchards. That is what a group of apple trees is called!
I do love your perceptions of life….especially on such things as where apples ate grown!
I get the Happy Meal for portion control too. Next time I do that, I’ll save the toy for your Christmas charity.
