Silly Cat
Woman in the Middle | February 14, 2016At the end of our hall, near the bedrooms, is the door from our house to our garage. That door includes a cat door. After we moved to this house, Blackie developed a little thing he liked to do. He uses his litter box in the garage and then blasts though the cat door, takes a left turn, and then gallops down the hall, all the way to the front of the house.
There hasn’t been much galloping lately. For one, Blackie is just plain old. The other reason is that, during the day, we keep the cat door closed so the kittens can’t get into the garage. But, yesterday morning, before the kittens were up, the cat door was open. Hubby and I heard Blackie go out to the garage about 6:30. Then, boom, he blasted back into the house and did a good gallop down the hall. The thumpity thump of those four old feet on the wood floor was a wonderful sound.
According to the calculators you can find online that convert a cat’s age to the equivalent human age, Blackie is just about 84 years old. I don’t think I will be running anywhere when I am 84 years old. You go, Blackie!
Awww! When Jake was nearing the end, every once in a while he would do something very “kitten-like” that would tug at my heart and remind me of the terror he once was. Hug Blackie for me.
Good for Blackie. I hope he had fun.
Well Blackie is having fun running around like a silly cat and what harm is it
