Work Widow
Woman in the Middle | February 2, 2016Hubby just got a HUGE project in at work, one that will be ongoing for about six weeks. I don’t think I will be seeing much of him during that time. He has already been putting in some mighty long hours, including working both Saturday and Sunday. I am sure long before this project wraps up, I will be sick and tired of not having my husband around.
Have I ever told you what Hubby does? He is the co-owner of an air testing laboratory. They tend to test air for large projects, based on federal and state clean air regulations. So, for example, landfills have to have their air tested regularly to make sure they are not spewing stuff in the air that they shouldn’t. They also test air at problem sites, when things are leaking that shouldn’t, or when people think there is a problem in their neighborhood. There aren’t that many air testing laboratories, so, wherever there is a big “bad air” story in So Cal, Hubby is usually involved in some way.
Meanwhile, I am getting on with life, and making sure dinner is ready whenever he finally rolls in. Since he also has a bad cold, I am also making sure the cold medicine supplies are laid in. Now you know how my life is going to be going until the middle of March or so!
The latest “air” quality story I heard was about that methane leak in California. Yuk!
The leak is no where near us, thank goodness.
Ok I read the whole post and thought there is nothing about a window in it, what work window is she talking about then of course the light bulb went on and I realised the title said work widow not window, silly me but got it in the end.
Glad I am not the only one who does things like that!
And now I know more of what Hubby does. His job sounds complicated, but you explained it very well.
