Near Death Experiences and other Fun Stuff
Woman in the Middle | November 3, 2015We have just been having all kinds of fun things going on around here.
1. Hubby tried to get himself electrocuted. He decided to walk to the near by Subway to get lunch. On the way there he noticed that a power line was sagging so that, at its lowest point, it was about eight feet from the ground. No worries because he isn’t eight feet tall. Just then a large truck went by, hit the sagging power line, making it dance around. Hubby had to dance around, too, to keep from getting hit by the live power line. He called 911 right way to report the problem. He may need some electricity to jump-start his heart after that one! I feel like I need it, too.
2. It rained last evening. I ran to the garage to turn off the sprinklers and discovered they had never been turned back on after the last bit of rain….at least three weeks ago. NOW I understand why some of my plants and trees. were looking a little sad. Can’t say we aren’t saving water during the drought, even if it is by accident.
3. Eldest Daughter may have a lead on a holiday job. Cross your fingers!
4. Youngest Daughter is waiting with hope and anticipation to hear back from two companies who have expressed interest in maybe, possible, perhaps, hiring her. Fingers crossed for that as well.
5. Blackie is having a good week, but Honey is not. We boarded Honey over the weekend to save her and our 25 guests from having to deal with each other. It was also a fine opportunity to get her bathed and groomed. Well, the poor old thing must have overdone it. Her arthritis, which was doing so well, kicked back up and she is exhausted. We board her at the vet where they are well aware of her issues. I know they would have said something if anything unusual had happened. I guess it is just elderly dog syndrome (I made that up).
6. We only had three trick or treaters. Sigh.
7. I am eating way too much Halloween candy, due to the previously mentioned lack of trick or treaters. Double Sigh.
How is your week going?
