Wait, What Happend?
Woman in the Middle | November 5, 2015I know you can’t live without another post from me about our weather, so here goes!
We had a long, hot October, with the temperatures staying up in the high 80s through last Sunday. Then, just like that, the weather skipped right over autumn and went straight to winter. We got rain, the mountains got a dusting of snow, and the last two days the high temperature was in the high 60s. My house was 62 degrees when I got up this morning.
My poor little brian doesn’t know what to make of this. I yanked a pair of jeans out of the closet and threw on some socks and close toed shoes. But I am still wearing t-shirts and am resisting dragging a sweater out yet. We haven’t turned the heat on either, but if it continues to be in the low 60s we may consider it soon. I have actually had to put a blanket on my bed and pull out a robe. Hot beverages have been enjoyed.
In an ideal world there would have been a little more transition between summer and winter. I like cool weather but the whipsawing from summer weather to winter weather so quickly has left us all trying to catch up. The plants in my yard that are blooming because they thought it was spring again are probably even more confused than I am!
My house was 55 this morning. As I turn off my furnace in the summer I had no heat at all . The gas man just turned it back on this morning. Next year I’m making my appointment October 1st even if it is still hot.
Yes, 55 is a bit chilly! 62 is OK, if I have a robe and slippers on.
Even with a robe and slippers, I still need the heat on at 62 degrees.
Don’t put away your shorts and sandals yet! With this weird weather, we may very well get more heat.
