Oh, Fall, Where Art Thou?
Woman in the Middle | October 20, 2015It cooled off a bit yesterday. I could stand the idea of putting on long pants for a meeting I had in the afternoon. I actually left them on for the rest of the day! Glory be! Even crazier, Hubby and I went for a walk at about 7:30 and we actually took that walk while we BOTH wore long pants! Even crazier, but my house got down below 75 degrees last night without the assistance of the air conditioner.
Could it be that fall might be arriving? Oh, let it be so! However, I am not holding my breath or putting away the short pants and sandals quite yet. It is supposed to warm up again. If it does, I think you will find me curled up in a ball while the air conditioner blasts me with cold air because I set it at 65 degrees.
I am sure, along about next March or so, summer will be very much on my mind, especially if the El Nino induced rainy winter materializes like they say it is going to. But, right now, I am dreaming of:
Cooking a big pot of chili and a big pan of cornbread.
Putting on a sweatshirt and wearing it all day.
Making a nice cup of hot tea.
Using a blanket on my bed.
Turning off all the fans in the house and letting the air, once again, be still.
Making a big pot of ham and butter beans. (That is the Southern coming out in me right there.)
Enough dreaming. Here is wishing fall arrives very soon.
It’s the in-between season, somewhere between summer and fall. For the last two nights I had on shorts and sandals with a big sweatshirt.
I love it when it’s not too hot nor too cold like it is here today, started out wet though that I could had done without
