A Little This, A Little That
Woman in the Middle | October 18, 2015We have lived in our present home almost five and a half years now. The first couple of years were busy with buying additional furniture, finding pictures to hang on blank walls, picking paint colors, and such. Hubby even made a mantle for the fireplace. But, finally, that kind of thing slowed down. I have to admit, I kind of miss it. It was fun being on the constant look out for the perfect couch, or paint color, or print. However, our bank account is happy as can be that we finally stopped all that craziness.
So, it is with a ridiculous amount of joy in my heart that we decided to move a piece of wall décor from the living room to the hall way and are replacing it with some prints from various vacations. That is what Hubby and I buy now for a souvenir, a smallish print. We have one from our last trip to Hawaii, two from our northern European cruise, and one from a long ago trip to Victoria Island that just never got framed and hung up. Everything is framed now and just waiting for hubby’s expertise at hanging things nice and straight, at the right height, and spaced just so. Yes, I could do it, but, when you live with an expert, why let an amateur do it?
The four new prints join six already hanging on another part of that particular living room wall. The whole thing will be now be our vacation wall, with plenty of room to add some more adventures. And I am so excited to make those little changes and have something fresh and new going on.
Meanwhile, seeing all those prints makes me want to go somewhere. Hum….
My walls are full of photos, that is me I love to have photos around the house, I take after my mum in that regard.
I have lots of photos in frames sitting around the house. I love to have photos around as well.
What a great idea to have a “vacation wall.” Wish we had thought of that.
Well, we stumbled upon the idea accidentally. We bought a print when we went on a trip to England and then bought a print on the next vacation…and then it dawned on us that we seemed to have a trend going. That and the fact that we REALLY don’t need any more “things”…
