Getting “Help” Cleaning Out
Woman in the Middle | September 7, 2015I forced myself to deal with the closet yesterday. I found to my happy surprise, since I had already dealt with the clothes that were everywhere, the closet wasn’t too bad. Of course, the master bedroom closet is located in the master bedroom, otherwise known at our house as the kitten playroom. So Lumos and Nox were right there, “helping” me do my cleaning out and organizing. They assumed everything I got out was for their pleasure and that I was cleaning out the closet so they would have more nooks and crannies to play in and rest on. Oh, to be young, to be a cat, and to assume that everything is being done just for you!
Since Youngest Daughter moved home after five years of living at school, I decided to take advantage of some “new to me” things that I could use in my closet. Some people call these things “hand me ups” instead of “hand me downs.” The first thing was a shoe shelf. But, before I could put it in the closet, the two kittens found it to be great fun. You can see Nox with no problem, but Lumos blends in a little more. That is his back half you can see on the left.
More fun with the shoe shelf! By the way, I just realized today that my little Nox is growing up! He is beginning to look more and more like Blackie in photos. About the only way I can tell it is him instead of Blackie, other than the fact that Blackie is HUGE, is that the back of Nox’s ears have very little hair. You can see his almost bald ears in the following photo. See how they do not look black?
Another new thing I was able to snag was a rolling hamper. I am hoping this will be more convenient when I have to take my dirty clothes off to the garage when I need to do laundry. Lumos thought it was very interesting.
Meanwhile, Nox thought the straw in the plastic cup was fun to bat at. There is some black printing on the towel under him, which is why he looks like he has extra body parts in this photo.
Then there were all those plastic bags that had somehow come to live in my closet. Gosh, they were catnip to the kittens!
Once Nox had his fun, Lumos had to give it a try.
Back I went into the closet, arranging things. Back into the closet went Nox to keep me company.
“Don’t mind me, Lady, I will just lay down over here.”
All this sorting and organizing got my two “helpers” all tuckered out. Who cares that there was still stuff on the bed, they sacked out anyway for a nice cat nap.
Another day of organizing bites the dust!
Hey Kim! Whenever I clean I always have at least one cat supervising as well! They just LOVE watching someone else work.
Hang in there! You’re doing a great job, although it might be all that help….
The closet looks great. The bedroom, not so much!!
I want to be your cat!
You do?!? Just so you can play in all my junk???
Such adorable and lucky kittens
Oh you don’t know how lucky! They just got a new kitten tree today, free to us from some friends. They love it!
How I envy you all that playful entertainment!
It was watching them get into everything that made us decide to take our friends up on the offer of the cat tree. My little guys needed some more entertainment!
