The Weekend
Woman in the Middle | September 6, 2015What are you doing over Labor Day weekend? Any barbecued meat in your future?
We actually do not have any grilled meat planned, as of yet, anyway. Yesterday Hubby had to work, so it didn’t feel like a Saturday. I had a meeting in the morning and then came home and tried to motivate myself to clean out my bedroom closet. That is really hard with two kittens trying to help me! Everything I threw out of the closet they thought was a new toy. Purse straps! Belts! Ribbon! Bubble wrap! Oh Boy!!!
Yesterday evening we went with some friends to check out a restaurant in a town about 45 minutes from us. This will shock you, I am sure, but this little city is actually not located on a freeway! So we had a nice drive off the high-speed highway to get there. Once there, we had a delicious Italian meal, dessert, something called an “Italian Margarita” and headed home full, fat and sassy.
Today I am meeting our cousin at church and then will be attacking that closet again, with all the help the kittens can muster, I am sure. Tomorrow has been designated family outing day. We aren’t sure what we are doing yet. There is the L.A. County Fair, Downtown Disney, various beach towns, and whatever other ideas we come up with and eventually settle on.
Youngest has lots of plans this weekend. Yesterday she went with a friend to the UCLA game. Today she is off to the beach. Eldest is taking it easy this weekend, although she did stir herself to go shopping yesterday just for fun.
Speaking of shopping, I did some shopping for he kittens yesterday. I picked up another scratching post, a sleeping mat, and a new toy. Just like human babies, they keep needing new things.
What about you? What are you doing this weekend?
What? No kitty pictures? No plans here.
Nope, I wasn’t taking photos while I tired to clean. Maybe I will today, just for you!!!
Younger daughter and family are moving in with us next Friday. They will be here til she defends on Oct 23 and they move away. Their house sold in two days, so rather than rent a place for two months, they are coming here. Which suits me just fine to have GRANDBABY time! We know we won’t be entertaining our friends while we have extra family here, so we had a get together last night that consisted of good old Memphis BBQ. Yum. Headed to a friend’s pool now and again tomorrow.
Yum, BBQ! I love that stuff, with the cole slaw on top!!! Have fun with that grandbaby!!!
I love bbq’s but we don’t have one, Tim just doesn’t care for them he doesn’t mind food that is bbqed but he can’t be bothered with the cooking
It is basically the only kind of cooking my Hubby does. So, thank goodness for the BBQ!
Let’s see, what did I do on Labor Day. . . . I walked a 5K to return my library book (no sense in driving when you need to get your 10,000 steps in), I read ALL of my emails (I’m sure there were over 100!) and I washed two of my comforters that DESPERATELY needed it! Well! I certainly had fun, didn’t I? B?}
I am impressed you walked in this heat!
Yeah, well my face was a deep red when I got home! Not too smart on my part!
