Drought Causes Headaches and More!
Woman in the Middle | June 8, 2015The toilet in our front bathroom is old and past its prime. It is nowhere near as water efficient as the new models and so, to do our part, we bought a new toilet a couple of weeks ago. Hubby decided to swap out the toilets yesterday afternoon. It caused me to learn the consequences of trying to be more water efficient.
Did you know that drought can make you need to repaint? I sure didn’t. During the removal of the old toilet, Hubby came out and told me the new water efficient model has a smaller tank than the old one we are replacing. Over the years when the bathroom was repainted, the previous owners didn’t bother to remove the tank when repainting, and so there is a patch on the wall that is a different color than the rest of the bathroom. The new, smaller tank won’t completely cover the paint problem. Now we will have to repaint the front bathroom. Oh boy!
After Hubby removed the old toilet I volunteered to clean the floor and baseboards that are so hard to reach when the toilet is in place. I bent over, sprayed some cleaning spray around, then stood up. We have a cabinet that hangs on the wall about the toilet and when I stood up I slammed the back of my head on the edge of the cabinet. Oh boy, that hurt! Who knew the drought could cause headaches, too?
I thought all I had to worry about was a yellow lawn and dead plants. Little did I know just what othre things a drought could bring!
Bloody hell, headaches and needing to repaint just because you thought you would do a good thing and have a water efficient toilet.
I KNOW! Crazy, isn’t it?
The good thing about a smaller tank is that it takes less time to fill up. So, what color are you and your hubby going to paint the bathroom? Are you going to choose a sensible or a fun color?
Since I wasn’t even considering painting the bathroom until Sunday, I have no idea. I like the color it is now but if I am going to repaint, I may want to change it….so it will probably be awhile before I decide.
One upgrade always leads to another fixer upper problem, including headaches! I hope the new tank works and no other issues come up for solving.
