A Surprise to the Doctor
Woman in the Middle | June 4, 2015I went to the doctor a month and a half ago. I have been experiencing some weird feelings in the toes on both of my feet and thought I should get it checked out. Since I am middle aged and over weight, he immediately suspected diabetes. Diabetes doesn’t run in my family and I was fine three years ago, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get a full blood panel done, so I agreed.
I was back in today and much to the good doctor’s surprise, no diabetes. Also to his surprise, my blood pressure is fine, my bad cholesterol is a dream, kidney and liver function is great. My good cholesterol is low and I needed more vitamin D. That was all he could fine. And, of course, he wants me to lose weight.
No explanation in all the tests could be found concerning my toes, so I will just watch and wait on that. Meanwhile, I am now taking vitamin D and will be researching ways to get my good cholesterol up. And, hopefully, I will continue to surprise my doctor for many years to come.
Isn’t that just absolutely annoying that just because you’re overweight doctors think you have diabetes! Well, you showed him!
BTW, start practicing for next year’s 5K because exercise is a great way to get your good cholesterol up!
Yes I did!!!
oh, I am so glad you are a.o.k. The weird feelings in my feet and toes – diagnosed years ago as “genetic.” Could also just be cold feet!
