Back and Forth Again
Woman in the Middle | April 8, 2015We had about two weeks of warm weather. I was wearing sandals most of the time so I even got a pedicure. But, like it likes to do around here, the weather suddenly swung the other direction again. It turned cool yesterday and then, miracle of miracles, it rained last evening! Yay! I get to turn off the sprinklers again. I had hot tea while we watched TV last night. Hubby threw on his rode because he was cold. Eldest Daughter was cuddled up under a blanket. You would think it was winter instead of spring! But I am not complaining. Summer will come too soon as it is. And then we will have nothing but warmth and heat for a good three months.
I often read about folks in other parts of the country rotating their wardrobes. Even some of you who also write blogs mention putting away your winter things and getting out the summer things. That concept is very foreign in these here parts. Yesterday was a good reason why. In the space of 12 hours I went from wearing my summer clothes to wearing a sweatshirt again. I would have been very annoyed if I had stored away all of my cold weather clothes!
Of course, the news is making it very clear that this new rain storm, which even deposited snow up north. had no affect on our drought. Sigh. It feels very hopeless and frustrating when we get rain but are told it has no positive impact. How can that be?
Autumn here, rain, then shine, then fog, then rain. My wardrobe is all over the place. Enjoy spring when it arrives.
It already arrived. Then summer came. Then back to winter. It appears spring is back again.
We are in autumn and that means one day can be hot the next is cool then it’s cold many days we have no idea what to wear when we get dressed in the morning.
Here’s to a variety of weather patterns to keep us on our toes. We had a big rainstorm here this afternoon, complete with lightning, thunder and wind. And that’s rare for April. It was so warm before the storm that I began putting my winter clothes away and dragging out the summer things. I keep a sweatshirt out just in case though. You never know.
