The New Neighbors
Woman in the Middle | March 20, 2015Normally, I prefer not to deal with anything disturbing before eight in the morning. No noise, no big decisions, just peace and harmony. That peace and harmony stuff has been a little affected the past few days because a neighbor has decided to put in some block walls, including retaining walls, and the men doing that work arrive before 7 a.m. They aren’t really loud, but loud enough to interfere a bit with my (hopefully) quiet morning.
But I am not complaining. When we moved into our home, the house in question was a rental. It had a good-sized front yard with a few pitiful bushes, dirt and weeds. That is what we looked at for almost five years now. A few months ago a for sale sign went up in the yard and the whole neighborhood did a happy dance. A few weeks ago the new owners appeared with a truck full of belongings. I almost ran across the street to give them a warm welcome. The young man who is living there now assured me he would be fixing up the yard very soon.
Now the walls are going in and it looks like he is putting in some front steps. I get a big happy grin on my face every time I step outside and see the work going on. Even if I have to hear workmen and trucks at 6:50 a.m. I am just so happy that the eyesore house is finally getting some love and attention.
It is a regular construction zone at the house across the street! Note how the yard looks right now. Yuk!
Noise of a morning is something many people do not like, some do not like a lot of chit chat either, I am a quiet person of a morning not up for a lot of chit chat myself. this morning I could have just laid in bed and enjoyed the quiet but no I was awake and felt I had to get up and do the rounds as in blog reading
Well, I am glad you decided to read mine!
