Thank You, Daylight Savings Time!
Woman in the Middle | March 8, 2015Since we live in one of the 47 states that practices Daylight Savings Time, the clock magically leapt ahead Sunday morning. Normally, that is a “whatever” around here. But this year, we were all eagerly looking forward to daylight savings time.
About three weeks ago, after getting up no earlier than 7 am , but usually sleeping in until eight or so, Honey the dog decided 6:15 am was the latest she was going to stay in bed every single morning. Sometimes it is 6 a.m. or even 5:45. Given that none of us needs to get up at that early hour, this has been really annoying. It doesn’t help that as soon as Blackie the cat sees us moving he expects food to be put in his bowl. If not, he does his best to harass us to death with an incessant and irritating “meow.”
Miraculously, this morning, the first of daylight savings time, Honey got up at exactly 7:15. Thank you, time change!!! We are forever grateful that Honey never learned how to read a clock!
Me, a pain? Not at all! I am just a dog who has decided I want to get an early start!
Adjusting the cats’ feeding time has always been the biggest challenge of DST. It’s harder in the fall when I make them wait that extra hour in the evening.
I don’t have any problem adjusting to daylight savings, and here we still have a month to go before it comes to and end for a few months.
Ha! Ha! Mother Nature and Father Time finally fooled the clever Honey.
