Not Us, Unfortunately
Woman in the Middle | February 10, 2015This story involves my dentist, who I will call Dr. S. Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with actual dental procedures. I have been seeing this same dentist since I was 16 or 17. I am now 53. He sees Hubby and the girls. My girls have never known another dentist. So you could say we have a good relationship. A very long relationship. Thank goodness he isn’t in the mood to retire as he is a very good dentist. I doubt I will ever find another dentist as good as Dr. S.
I got a call from Cathy, who works with Dr. S. She wanted to tell me that the good doctor had seen an article in the paper about a couple in a nearby town who had won over $1.3 million in the California lottery. He had seen it in our local newspaper. I had seen it as well, but had just read the headline. Dr. S had also read the caption. The couple who won all that money? They have the exact same names as hubby and I! Same two first names, same last name. That is too funny! I guess the good doctor read the caption and got excited until he saw the photo of the couple. White and middle-aged like Hubby and I, but definitely not us.
Hubby and I have two of the most common first names of our generation and the second most common last name in the United States. We think we should start a club only for married couples with our first and last names. There would probably be a surprising number of us. We could have conventions! Maybe the couple who won all the money would buy us a round of drinks!
Maybe they can foot the bill for the first convention. 8*P
Oh that sucks I am sure you could have done lots with the money
