Such a Disappointment
Woman in the Middle | January 13, 2015Occasionally we have an article in our local newspaper that mentions that someone (or multiple people) are stealing packages off people’s front porches. I thought of that yesterday because, in spite of it being after Christmas, we received two packages from the delivery gods. But those folks who like to steal packages would be supremely disappointed in what was hidden in cardboard by our front door.
First was the textbook youngest daughter ordered. It wasn’t just any old textbook. It is a big fat number on air conditioning! Her major requires that she take three technology electives and this quarter the class on air conditioning fit into her schedule. When she is done with this class she will be able to determine the size air conditioner any building needs. This being So Cal, they don’t get into heating.
I pulled that large package into the house and went to the store. When I got back another, even bigger package was hanging out by my front door. It was a car part that Hubby recently ordered for the 1969 Javelin currently hanging out in my garage. The car part has some value, at least I hope it does since Hubby paid money for it. But it is an odd part and I don’t think it would have much value for the folks who might steal it.
I hope you are having a great day and if you get any packages delivered, that they have much more interesting things in them than we got!
We don’t have that kind of thing going on in our immediate neighborhood but my biggest worry is that the temperatures are below freezing. I am expecting a sunscreen to be delivered between now and Friday and I am neurotic about checking the front door, garage door (occasionally FedEx puts it there), and the mail box. I have one med that is mail order and I worry about that too but I won’t need to order for another month or so and hope the temps are moderating at least during the day. I have a friend who gets Depends regular delivery. Wouldn’t that one be a hoot for some crook!
Yep, I think the Depends would be even more upsetting to the crooks than a book on air conditioning!
Yeah we have those thieving bastards around here too and I often thing I hope what you still is worthless you rotten bastard, I thankfully have never had anything stolen but still you never know
That’s why I have a PO Box, and I have my packages delivered there.
