This and That
Woman in the Middle | December 2, 2014Just a little of this and that today.
It is raining, thank goodness. But we can’t ever be happy about rain in So Cal, no matter how much we need it. So the news is covered with gloom and doom predictions of flooding and mud slides. Sigh….
Blackie the cat is feeling much better, thank you very much. He is putting weight back on, meowing for food constantly, and has even started his daily mad dash down the hall and into the dining room. Here is hoping that keeps up!
Hubby spent Sunday under a car in our driveway. He hasn’t done that in a long time and he admitted it was much harder to “shoulder walk” under the car than it used to be. I suggested it was age, he feels it has to do with weight, meaning having more weight than he used to have. It is so nice to have a handy Hubby!
The rain and the December date may force me to turn on the heat for the first time this season. I think Hubby will have a fit if I don’t. He doesn’t like to be cold.. He is a summer man. I am a winter woman. Did I ever tell you we have a mixed marriage?
I have taken the Thanksgiving decorations down and have started, just a bit, to get the Christmas decorations up. It is that time of year!
I don’t think I mentioned that I just had a birthday recently. I had a very enjoyable day. I gave myself permission to do whatever I wanted. So I dropped off various donations to various groups for the upcoming holidays, and then I went shopping at my favorite place, Dress Barn, to buy myself a birthday present, and then got frozen yogurt with cheesecake bites on top. Yum! A lovely day! The next day, when Youngest Daughter was able to come home, we had dinner out and birthday dessert. So I got two days of birthday, not just one.
Sounds like you had a personally delightful birthday and then another one to share with your daughter too. I am so happy Blackie is back to old tricks and high appetite. Hopefully no floods or mudslides and only happy grass from all that rain. Notice how many times I said “happy” here? It’s all leading up to a belated Happy Birthday wish that will carry on through the year.
Thank you!
That sounds like the perfect birthday! Does Hubby restore cars as a hobby?
He would like to, but never has the time.
