Not Feeling Black Friday Anymore
Woman in the Middle | November 29, 2014There is one nice thing about getting old – that need to go out shopping on Black Friday just isn’t there for me any more. I used to get up in the middle of the night to go get the deals, but not any more. Don’t get me wrong, I love to shop. I poked around a bit at Kmart, which is right by my house. I bought a few things, which are mainly for Hubby to give to the people at work. I also went to Target, but not until almost noon. It was busy but not crazy and, again, I picked up a few things and then got in line with only one person ahead of me. Kohl’s was a whole other level, however. The line stretched all the way to the back of the store. I saw that and left right away.
We don’t buy a whole lot of electronics or things like that. I don’t have to go find toys for the girls. Maybe when I have grandchildren and my daughters what to go out and get the big deal or special toy, I will go with them to help hold a place in line. But that is a few years in the future. Until then, Black Friday shopping will not be much of a thing for me.
How about you? Did you brave the crowds and lines to do Black Friday shopping?
I have never liked crowds so have never shopped on Black Friday. I try not shop on weekends either. So you are not alone.
I have never got people who want to go to those crazy midnight sales but then I may be strange or I may be normal and everyone else is strange
Me neither. Like I said, when the girls were younger I did occasionally get up early….be never stayed out really late. I like my sleep too much!
I almost did; Cost-plus World Market was having a “buy one, get one free” sale for their teas! However, a nap sounded just a tad better! (LOL) Besides, I didn’t need any tea, but I DID need to cut back on my spending! So, the nap was just as well.
