I know how to use packing tape….
Woman in the Middle | November 5, 2014I live on a golf course. Specifically, I live on the hook side of the first tee, which only means something to you if you golf. In the four and a half years we have lived here, we have had windows broken numerous times, some more than once. When my dining room window was broken the second time, in the exact same place no less, I decide to give my wallet a break and not get the window fixed right away. It was spring and we didn’t have the air conditioner or the heat on, so no harm, no foul.
Then summer came along. I still wasn’t in the mood to call the window repair place and spend several hundred dollars to get the window fixed. What is an enterprising, but cheap, woman to do? Well, what this cheap woman did was break out the clear packing tape. Remember, we live in southern California where the weather isn’t too extreme. Also, the hole in my window glass isn’t very big and it is in the upper left hand corner. Window coverings inside the house and landscaping outside the house make great camouflage for my do-it-yourself fix.
I don’t think Hubby is too thrilled with my tacky solution, but, at the same time, he had made no effort to repair the windows himself. Since the repair of the dining room window, the master bedroom window has also been smacked. Again, a little tape and all is well.
One of these days, when life calms down, and we aren’t trying to get Mom in Law’s house dealt with, and when every car we own isn’t breaking and costing us money month after month, we will get the windows fixed. But, for now, as tacky as it might be, I am fine with the packing tape.
Packing tape that is what you use to keep someone you have kidnapped quiet and to tape their hand together behind their back before you toss them into the boot of a car…………lol
You mentioned golf which made me think you could apply a little bit of tape to a golf ball so it sticks to the tee just to see how frustrated the golfer gets when the ball doesn’t fly off the tee.
You are too funny!
I don’t blame you for just using tape if golf balls are just going to break them again.
Tacky is fine when you are doing it your way. I never thought of the dangers of living on a golf course!
Oh yeah, I have have had windows broken at least six times in the last 4 years. We have been a bit surprised by the glass carnage….
