I Always Miss the Excitement!
Woman in the Middle | October 13, 2014Hubby and I made it to and from Las Vegas safely this weekend. We had a good time. It was nice to get away and spend time with friends. But on Saturday night I got a call from Eldest Daughter telling me I was missing a big event in the neighborhood. The people in the house two doors away have a number of old “collectable” cars in their driveway. Well, while we were in Vegas one of the cars caught fire and went up in smoke, right there in the driveway. Oh my!
Eldest wasn’t too thrilled with the excitement. Having a fire happen so close by when you are in charge of the house and pets is not fun. She said we weren’t allowed to leave ever again! I was sorry that the fire happened. I still don’t understand how a car that is just sitting there can go up in smoke, although Hubby assures me it can happen. I hope no one caused it to happen on purpose….that wouldn’t be good at all.
Perhaps missing that excitement was ok. Now missing a big block party would be a bummer!
You are right. The smoke wasn’t pleasant, I heard. I also wish Eldest didn’t have to be worried. I would like a block party….but I would probably have to plan it….
Oh the excitement of a fire yes fires are exciting if it not my property on fire on too close to me and not one gets hurt and everything is insured and the insurance pays out than fires are exciting……………just saying
I completely agree. I am hoping that is the case with this. I hope the car was insured. Given how many he has they should be….Happily, no one was hurt by the fire and it didn’t spread to any of the other collectable cars.
I bet Eldest would have traded places with you in a heartbeat!!
Our next-door neighbor’s truck caught on fire one night at about 11:30. It was parked right next to their other car. He, being a volunteer firefighter and knowing what to do, used his tractor to push the burning truck away from the car.
You could have stayed home and pretended the fire was a Vegas show! Nah. I love Vegas. Nothing like manufactured diversions to keep you interested. My oldest friend lives there too. I would love to go back for another visit.
I could have!!
