Shopping Til I Drop
Woman in the Middle | September 11, 2014Youngest daughter and I decided to go shopping yesterday as she will be going back to school soon and these opportunities will be few and far between. We just about shopped until we dropped! We asked Eldest Daughter if she wanted to go along but she passed. When we got home she said, “I’m glad I didn’t go. I didn’t know you were going to shop forever.” “We didn’t either,” we said.
Youngest was looking for another pair of shorts, as summer won’t be ending in these parts for awhile. I was looking for a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding. We were both looking for an end of season deal on sandals. Youngest found the shorts and a top and a dress. The angels sang and I found a dress for the wedding and a necklace to go with it. You do not know how many ill fitting dresses I tried on before this one. I have been looking for a new dress for weeks!
Unfortunately, no sandals could be found. I was looking for some that are Disneyland comfortable. That is my ultimate criteria for a pair of shoes. Would I wear these to Disneyland? Unfortunately, I have just one pair of shoes that meets that test right now and they are about to fall apart.
We were also shopping for some practical things that Youngest needs when she goes back to school. One of the last times I visited Youngest at school last year I saw a young woman with a laundry hamper that had wheels and a handle that extended out, like a suitcase. Wow! I knew Youngest needed one of those!!! Happily, we found one at Target, only $15.99. That will make it so much easier for her when she drags her laundry home.
After all of that, we decided to make a fun run into the women’s candy/toy store, Ulta. Have you heard of Ulta? They are all about makeup and beauty products. They have everything from the drug store brands such as Cover Girl and Maybelline all the way up to Clinique. We could have spent hours in there but our feet were hurting, so we settled for a new lip product each and then headed home to rest our weary feet.
Ahhh…I love a successful and fun shopping expedition, but, I have to admit, I am getting a little old for shopping marathons!
I do remember those shopping “marathons” with my own Mom! What fun they were. How lucky you are to have each other and to both shop til you drop. Those memories will linger forever.
Since I have a narrow foot, my choices are lilmited. But I have found SAS to have the most comfortable sandals. I think they are still having their $15 off sale.
Good idea. I may check there!
I love my Crocs! I have a pair of flip flops that I can walk in for miles.
