Pure Weather Bliss
Woman in the Middle | September 4, 2014Ah, the heat has broken for the moment and, even as I type, (at 9:21 a.m.) the sky remains overcast and the air cool. Bliss!
This summer has been a weirdly humid one and that makes the warm days just a little more unpleasant than usual. But now the weather has changed, for a little while anyway. Yesterday it was only 90. It is amazing how good 90 feels when the thermometer has been hovering around 100 for quite a while now. We live just close enough to the cost to sometimes get that morning low cloud cover, but usually not in September. We usually get it in the winter and, for what ever weather phenomenon reason, in June. The morning low clouds in June even have a name – “June Gloom.”
Somehow, “September Gloom” just doesn’t have the same ring, but I am not complaining. Me and my long suffering plants are just thrilled with the overcast sky. I assume that by afternoon the sun will be shining again. Until then, I will enjoy the cool air and the cloudy sky!
Enjoy the September Bliss! Our first signs of Fall are the absence of birds at the feeders. Have they already flown south? And the shadows are different. And of course that little cool breeze that comes in little drifts.
It is a nice warmish September day here in my part of the world
