Vacation Photos You Shouldn’t Take
Woman in the Middle | July 12, 2014When we got back from our cruise last year I tried to start a photo album of our trip, but it was just too overwhelming and I stopped after just a few pages. Now, almost a year later, I decided I needed to get back to that. We spent too much time, money, and effort on that vacation to not memorialize it for future enjoyment.
A few days ago I was able to dive back in and be more ruthless about what went in and what didn’t. My attitude now is a done photo album that isn’t perfect is better than none at all. The only problem is that after a year, I have no idea why I took some of the photos. For example, this one:
A lovely composition I have decided to call “trash can in middle of hotel room, Denmark.” Seriously, what was the point of this??? It is too well composed to be an accident. There must have been some reason….but I have no idea at this point what it was.
Then there is this one:
I am calling this one “Empty Old Street in Tallinn.” If there is a contest for “Most Boring Vacation Photo” I think this one, taken in Tallinn, Estonia, might just win, if the photo of the trash can doesn’t take the prize, I mean. Maybe it was the brick street that caught my eye? This one is not going into the photo album, either, thank you very much!
You are going to love this one which I think I will call “The March of the Freeway Light Poles” :
First of all, I need to remember to stop taking photos from inside a tour bus. Secondly, why was I so fascinated with these freeway light posts? I agree they are different, but, really, I needed a photo? This one will not be taking up any space in the photo album either.
So, dear readers, do you come home from vacation and discover you took some odd/boring/useless photos?
