Memorial Day
Woman in the Middle | May 26, 2014Hubby grilled up some tri tip and asparagus and I made twice baked potatoes for our Memorial Day feast. It was just us and the girls, which was nice as that happens less and less often now a days. Did you cook up anything special for Memorial Day?
I am feeling Memorial Day a little more than usual this year. I just wrote a story for our local paper on the only young man from our city to lose his life in World War I. His death was especially poignant because he died of a battle injury just six days before the armistice was reached on November 11th, 1918.
Rest In Peace Claude W. Briggs, 1895 – 1918. May your sacrifice never be forgotten.
We don’t have a memorial day but we do have Anzac Day which is pretty much the same thing, we all should remember those who served their country
I was going to have Chinese fried rice with chicken (made by one of my co-workers) and watch a Margaret Rutherford comedy with my dad, but he had forgotten about it and had made a business appointment. It worked out for me anyway, as I was dying to try my new juicer and finally got the chance.
