The Unseen Jungle Cruise
Woman in the Middle | May 25, 2014I mentioned in a previous post that we went to Disneyland recently. Not the Mother’s Day trip, but the one before that. Unfortunately it was spring break and the Happiest Place on Earth was filled with a whole bunch of other people who had the same idea as we did. Spring break is not the best time to go but it is the only time we had available. But Disneyland is reasonably close by for us so it is never our once in a life time trip. If the line is too long we can go on that ride another time.
The line for the Jungle Cruise said it was only a 30 minute wait so we decided to give it a go. Well, the wait wasn’t too bad but the line – Oh my! It snaked up a set of stairs and all over a second story that I didn’t even realize was there, before going back down the stairs, snaking around some more, before we finally got on a boat. I don’t remember ever being upstairs at the Jungle Cruise before and so decided to make lemonade out of lemons and took pictures of all the new things I saw, as well as a few of Adventureland from above.
All the things we saw were supposed to be part of a jungle outpost for a group of explorers. THat will explain some of the things you are about to see.
So that was out little jaunt above the Jungle Cruise and Adventureland.
You didn’t miss those things, they are part of the updated Jungle Cruise. I used to go to Disneyland once or twice every year as a kid. My cousins & I had the place memorized.
Wow, you were lucky! We only went when relatives came from out of state. So there were always several years between visits.
Would you believe Bill and I went to Orlando during this recent Spring Break? We decided to forego Disney in favor of beach runs, a visit to the Titanic Museum, and a few movies. The crowds at the beaches were amazing. The crowds everywhere were amazing. But we went down there to get warm and that was delightful.
I know, I like all of Disney’s details too; it’s one of my favorite things about Disneyland. I bet the wait was almost as much fun as the ride.
