Returning from the Land of Starbucks and Green Hills
Woman in the Middle | March 17, 2014Hubby and I have returned safely from our long weekend in Seattle. It is just a two-hour plane flight away, which is about as long as I would want to be on a plane for just a long weekend. Hubby couldn’t resist singing the theme song from that old TV show, “Here Come the Brides.” If you are of a certain age, you may remember the song, “The hills are greenest green in Seattle….” Well, the song is right, the hills are very green in Seattle!
Since I live in a desert, it is always a refreshing change of pace to go someplace that is damp and green. Tall trees! Bushes every where! Even moss! I have to admit it takes a little time to recover from all that green when we get home as the color palate is more brown and dusty where I live. But, on the other hand, the sun was shining and a lovely breeze was blowing when we stepped outside at the airport today and hubby and I sighed and smiled and thought “we’re home!”
We visited a couple of nifty places while we were in Seattle and I will share those with you soon. Hope you had a great weekend!
Good to hear you returned home safely and I do remember “Here Come the Brides”
I have a friend who lives in Oregon near Mt Raiser. She has complained about how much rain they have been getting. I bet she would love to visit your desert about now! haha. Glad you had a good time!
My friend said something about 7 1/2 inches in the last month. That is a lot of water falling from the sky!
I remember going on a date to Phoenix, AZ, for the day. We visited a cactus garden and went to the movies.
