Not the Song for Ice Cream
Woman in the Middle | March 1, 2014I had to go over to my local park district headquarters recently. Out in front of the building is a skate park where you can usually find quite a few teenage boys hanging out and doing their thing with their skate boards. When I arrived an ice cream was there, playing music and trying to lure some customers over to buy their sweet treets. The music the truck was playing? The theme from the movie “Love Story.”
I don’t know about you, but music that reminds me of a movie about a young woman who dies of cancer sure doesn’t get me in the mood for ice cream! OK, maybe it really does since I stress eat. But, really, the theme from Love Story?
I am sure the boys who were skating had no idea what that song was. They probably just tought it was old depressing music.
Back in the day I cried my eyes out but I loved this movie. Did you? If you are old enough to remember it, that is!
Oh yes, I am old enough to remember that sad sad film. Odd how things get forgotten and skewed with the advent of a new generatio!
I saw this film when I was in college, and I thought it was the sappiest movie I’d ever seen. But then, I thought the book was pretty bad too.
I agree, sappy, but you have to remember I was only abut 13 when I saw it and it was definitely a movie that 13 year old girls will get a good cry out of!!!
Loved it too. Ryan O’Neal was hot then. Just so sad.
Wasn’t he though? HE is still pretty good looking!
I remember seeing my parents watch it, but I wasn’t interested in it back then. However, I recently decided to see it on Netflix to see what all the fuss was about back then. I was relieved to see that the character Ryan O’Neal played had the goodness to stay with her until the end. Other than that, I wasn’t impressed.
No that is not ice cream music at all what a dill change your music you might sell more ice cream
