My baby is 24!
Woman in the Middle | February 1, 2014On January 30th Eldest Daughter turned 24. I don’t even know what to say about that. Because, how could she be 24? My mind thinks I am just 24! My mind can not get its head around the fact that it is attached to a body that gave birth to a human being that is 24 years old!
I got engaged on my 24th birthday and less than 6 months later walked down the aisle with Hubby. What was I thinking? I was so young!!! Obviously something worked since we have been married over 27 years. But still, 24…..
Raising children is not easy. But that being said, Eldest has given us more wonderful, sweet, funny, delightful moments than she has ever given us sour ones, and we can’t imagine life without her. I worry about her every day, because that is my job. I look forward to seeing what life brings her. I hope it is a world of happiness and peace. I hope she finds a true love, I hope she has children as wonderful as she is and was, and I hope she continues to make me laugh, because she is so good at it.
But I still can’t believe my fairy princess of a daughter, the little girl who thought all fancy buildings were castles, is 24. I think I am going to take a nap with a cold compress on my forehead!
Dimples and curls, what’s not to love?
Happy Birthday to your baby girl, and I so get how we look at our babies and think how did they get to be so grown up and responsible, I know when I think about how my precious daughter is now 27yrs old and the mother of 2 girls of her own……
Wow, Jo-Anne, you must have been sitting right there at the computor!!! THat was a quick comment!!!
Oh! Tell her happy birthday for us! I remember clearly when she came to be and we all thought she was just so cute! Funny thing is, she looks the same!!! Hope her day was special and filled with love.
I don’t have children but found out that my niece’s granddaughter may be getting engaged. Engaged! She’s about 21 or so. I remember when her mother was a baby. How does this happen?
Oh your fairy princess daughter was adorable and I’ll be she is still so now!
What a sweet throwback picture! The years go by so fast. My sons are now both teenagers and I wonder sometimes, when and how did that happen?
