Simple Expectations
Woman in the Middle | July 29, 2013I love my Hubby. He is a man of simple expectations. He told me what he is hoping to get out of our 2 week vacation. Here is his list:
1. To not be awakened by an animal for 14 mornings.
2. To keep his bar tab under $200 on the cruise ship.
When Youngest Daughter pointed out that, in order to achieve the second one he will only be able to spend $14 a day, he said then he only wanted to achieve the first one. Happily, Hubby isn’t the sort to drink his way through a two week cruise, so I could just laugh about his list. Then I started thinking about my list for vacation. I just have one thing on my list:
1. For my foot to not touch the gas pedal of a car for two weeks.
I drive 70 miles round trip each day for work and I have been doing a ton of driving back and forth to see Big Bro who lives an hour away. I an really really tired of driving!
I laughed at your husband’s first one. I would love a vacation free of cat wakings. This morning at 5:45 a.m. there was a loud screetch. We both sat up in bed. Best I can figure out is that the new kitty jumped on one of the older ones who was sleeping and scared the bejesus out her (and us). Hard to sleep after that. I always love not driving. I don’t work anymore so I only do errand driving which is enough for me. It’s funny how you love to drive when you are 16 and then it slowly goes away.
The bar tab is a killer on a cruise ship…………………………even if you only drink soft drink
Oh, I know! I will be keeping Hubby on a restricted drink menu! I don’t want to have to give up the house because he wanted a few beers!!! LOL!
Wow, 70 miles each day to work! No wonder you don’t want to drive.
Wow! 70 miles! I only have to go 6 round trip. I don’t blame you for not wanting to drive. have fun on your cruise!
I have never communted before in my life, so this is a new experiance for me and not one I have found to be totally to my liking. I am happy to be employeed, but wish it was closer to home!
