Where did that weather come from?
Woman in the Middle | November 5, 2012Yesterday Hubby had to go to work for a bit but I talked him in to coming home by 2 in the afternoon and going to see a historic home in a nearby town. (More will be coming on that later.) It was a nice sunny day. A little warm, but we were both wearing jeans and it was OK. On the way home we stopped at the grocery store to pick up something for dinner. Of course I kept thinking of things we needed and our little stop grew into a 20 or 25 minute stop. When we left the store and walked out side is felt so warm….which was weird…..and I chalked it up to the difference between the air-conditioned store and the outside air.
We drove home, stepped out of the car, and were once again hit by the warm air….but it doesn’t get warmer around here at 4:30 or 5 in the afternoon! Then we noticed the wind. Oh, shucks! Another dratted Santa Ana wind was blowing in! While the wind was not yet really strong, it was certainly a “Santa Ana Condition” as the weather man like to call it. That usually means warmer weather. That also means it managed to get warmer at the end of the day yesterday. Hubby walked into the bedroom after five and changed into shorts, which he fully admitted felt ridiculous since he had been fine in pants up until that point. The air conditioner even came on for a bit around 6 p.m. I stubbornly stayed in my pants. It is November, folks! And it is not supposed to get warmer at the end of the day, no matter what time of the year it is!
You are so right the end of the day is when it is suppose to be cooling down not getting warmer………..
After the hurricane and last night’s early snowfall, I think I’d prefer a warm breeze. Sounds a lot better than going out to scrape ice off my windshield.
So happy to hear from you! Both because I am glad you are doing OK, or at least OK enough to get to a computer, and because you weren’t spam!!! These spam comments have gotten out of control!! But back to you comment…I agree that a warm breeze is better than snow and ice. It was just weird the way the weather turned so suddenly on a dime and got warm so late in the day. Today it rained this morning and then the sun came out. I have absolutely no idea what to wear!
I’m glad I’m not spam, too. We got our power back Tuesday night (after 8 very cold nights without it). I know what you mean about the weather and trying to figure out what to wear. We woke up with snow on the ground this morning and over the weekend it will be 60 degrees.
Weather is a bad word around our house today. We still have no power, which I cannot even believe! Back to the dark ages with us…
I can’t believe you are still without power! I will use good thoughts, prayer, and good karma to try to will it back on for you. Hope it gets back on very very soon!
